“I first encountered Basis while working at another consultancy, when I had the opportunity to collaborate with some Basis consultants on a project. It immediately caught my attention as an area I wanted to find out more about, and I was lucky enough to learn a lot and gain practical experience while spending time with the consultants and asking them lots of questions. When a junior Basis role came up, I successfully applied. Within just a few months I was involved in project work and a major ERP system upgrade, and I have been working in the area ever since! I now have over 22 years of Basis experience as both an end user and consultant.

Basis is the administrative platform of SAP systems and the solid foundation from which they function correctly and consistently. Without this solid foundation, you’re in for a rough ride! You could end up with system instability and reduced performance, inconsistent SAP environments, out of support systems, poor practice, increased operational costs, increased risk and negative customer experience.

What I like about Basis is that it allows you to be involved with lots of different areas and take part in a wide variety of activities across the application, database and infrastructure layers of SAP. Every day is different, and you are always learning as you keep up with the fast pace at which technology evolves.

Basis is a brilliant addition to our consulting and support services as we continually innovate our products and increasingly work on S/4HANA transformations and end-to-end global templates. We will be able to help facilitate the smooth operation of the entire SAP system, allowing modules like Financial Accounting and Controlling (FICO), Production Planning (PP), Sales and Distribution (SD) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) to integrate and communicate with each other.

As Basis manager, I’m excited to build strong collaborative relationships with our existing and new customers, assisting them not just from a technical standpoint, but also as a true partner who can guide them in best practice, and we’re having some really exciting conversations already.
