Intelligent Interface Integration

We will be working with a leading plumbing products manufacturer to implement our interface management solution, IDoc Management Console, into the company’s new greenfield automated warehouse and distribution centre in China.

Implementing SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) to operate its new warehouse, the company is integrating a large amount of automated equipment, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), automated cranes and automated conveyors.

The efficient operation of this equipment relies on its successful integration with SAP EWM. IDocs are used to send messages between the automation equipment and EWM, but if these messages fail and are not resolved quickly, it could have a significant impact on the smooth running of the facility.

As a result, our IDoc Management Console software is being installed to manage the interfaces between SAP EWM and the automation equipment. The solution will simplify the management of IDocs by providing clear visibility of all the manufacturer’s IDocs on one single dashboard. This will ensure any IDoc issues are flagged so that they can be resolved quickly and easily by business users to keep the warehouse operating efficiently.
